Location: TVET Head Office, Kampala
Basic Function (Summary of the function).
The Partnerships Officer supports the management and follow-up of partnerships between the TVET Council, industry, employers, and training institutions, with a focus on industry attachments, internships, and apprenticeships.
Partnerships and Employer Engagement
a) Profile and identify industry and employer partners for TVET collaboration.
b) Assist in developing and managing partnership agreements and MoUs.
c) Maintain a database of industry partners and participating employers.
Workplace-Based Learning Coordination
a) Coordinate industry attachments, internships, and apprenticeship placements for TVET learners.
b) Support implementation of guidelines and procedures for workplace-based learning.
c) Monitor placement arrangements and compile feedback from employers and institutions.
Incentives and Participation Support
a) Assist in operationalizing incentive mechanisms that promote employer participation.
b) Support awareness and outreach activities targeting industry stakeholders.
Reporting and Monitoring
a) Ensure systematic collection and compilation of data on partnerships, placements, and employer participation.
b) Prepare routine partnership performance reports.
c) Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Supervision received: Directly supervised by the Senior Partnerships Officer

Education Requirements
a) Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, Development studies, Business Development, Marketing, Economics, Commerce or a related field.
b) Post graduate Diploma in Humanities or a related field is an added advantage
Experience
a) Minimum of 3 years’ experience in partnerships management, employer engagement, or workforce development programs.
b) Experience coordinating internships, attachments, or apprenticeship programs is an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
a) In-depth knowledge of Uganda’s TVET policies, laws and regulatory frameworks
b) Strong skills in stakeholder communication, partnership administration, data tracking, and reporting
c) Ability to support incentive schemes, resolve operational issues, and maintain effective industry relationships
d) Working knowledge of employer engagement practices, partnership agreements, and coordination of internships, attachments, and apprenticeships

Travel Requirements: May require out of office travel within Kampala and its suburbs. Limited travel out of the country.
