Job Description

  • Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons appropriate to learners’ ages and ability levels.
  • Teach and develop swimming techniques, strokes, endurance and overall water competence.
  • Maintain high standards of water safety and learner supervision at all times.
  • Identify and nurture swimming talent and support learners preparing for competitions.
  • Assess learner progress and provide appropriate feedback and development guidance.
  • Promote discipline, teamwork and a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain professional standards and contribute positively to the school’s sports programme.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure the wellbeing of learners during swimming activities

Qualifications

Relevant swimming coaching certification or qualification in a related field.

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Proven experience coaching children and/or competitive swimmers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and instructional skills.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and responsibility.
  • Commitment to learner safety and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work effectively within a school environment.
