Restless Development through a number of feedback platforms is strengthening young people's ability to take part in local government planning, budgeting and accountability processes. However, many young people lack accessible information on how local governments plan and budget, when and how citizens can contribute, and what rights and responsibilities they hold. Official documents are always technical, lengthy and written in formal language, which limits interpretation and meaningful youth participation.
Restless Development seeks to develop and disseminate simplified, infographic, user friendly and illustrative Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials explaining the local government planning and budgeting, budgeting cycle, citizens rights and responsibilities in budgeting processes and entry points on the budgeting cycle for youth participation.
